Frangipani

Chic, colorful and utterly relaxed, Frangipani makes it easy to take the perfect tropical getaway. With its own private beach and ocean views from nearly every room in the house. The four-bedroom villa couldn’t have a better setting, and access to the Jumby Bay Resort amenities and chef and butler service mean there’s plenty to see and do—and plenty of time to do it.

Frangipani sits on beautifully landscaped grounds above its own little cove of white sand beach, complete with swim dock. The hardest decision you’ll make each day is whether to relax on the chaise longues on the beach or the lounge furniture on the terrace by the infinity pool. Prepare local seafood and herbs from the herb garden on the barbecue (or let the chef do it for you) and retire to the media or games rooms in the evenings. The villa has two golf carts so you can easily zip to the resort to check out the shared pools and fitness and tennis facilities or have a drink at the restaurants and bars.

Bright colors, open-sided rooms and vaulted ceilings lend irresistible charm to the interiors of Frangipani. Both the living and dining rooms feature casual arrangements of white-painted furniture with cheerful yellow upholstery and blue accents; the office goes all-out with yellow walls, while the media room gets playful with lime green walls and turquoise cushions. In the breezy kitchen, deep blue counters and a matching tile backsplash take on a nautical vibe when paired with crisp white cabinets.

Each of the four bedrooms at Frangipani has an en-suite bathroom. The master suite, on the lower level, has a king bed and its own dressing area. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms with terrace access: one with a king bed and two with two double beds each. Like the common living areas, the bedrooms aren’t afraid to play with color, from leafy green and blush pink to vibrant lilac and pottery blue.

If you’re flying to Antigua, you’ll need to make a 5-minute drive from V.C. Bird International Airport to the ferry dock, take a 7-minute ferry ride to the island where Jumby Bay is located and make the 1-mile walk from the Jumby Bay ferry dock to Frangipani. Though the villa has its own stretch of beach, it’s just under 1 mile from Pasture Bay Beach, where you’ll find the Hawksbill Turtle Project, and Jumby Bay Beach.

Evangeline

Spacious and lovely, Evangeline brings the rich blue and white hues of Antigua’s famed beaches into welcoming, airy interiors. A setting just minutes from the beach gives the five-bedroom villa beautiful ocean views that can be enjoyed from any of the well-appointed outdoor living areas—and chef, butler and housekeeping services mean you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy.

The heart of the villa is a covered terrace with a sitting area, daybed, bar and dining area, all facing the infinity pool and ocean. Chaise longues along the pool provide a sunny spot to read or nap, and a separate barbecue courtyard off the kitchen makes al-fresco cooking a snap (that is, if you don’t leave it to the chef). There’s plenty to see and do thanks to the villa’s tennis court, games, media and fitness rooms, koi ponds and ping-pong table, but you can take the bicycles or golf cart to explore the shared pools, fitness facilities, croquet lawn, restaurants and more at Jumby Bay Resort, too.

You’ll notice the sand-colored exteriors and pale aqua trim of Evangeline as soon as you arrive, and the charming, beachy color scheme is carried throughout the interiors. In the huge great room, vaulted ceilings, tile floors, wicker sofas and cream upholstery on the two sitting areas take up the cream and beige tones, while the transom windows are trimmed in aqua and the throw pillows and artwork introduce blue hues. The indoor dining area, in the center of the great room, gets a hit of mod style from clear Louis Ghost chairs, and the fully equipped kitchen has a restaurant-worthy range.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the second floor at Evangeline; all five have en-suite bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, ceiling fans and terrace access. The two ground-floor master suites each have a king bed and al-fresco shower and soaking tub. Upstairs, there’s one master suite with a king bed and wet room-style shower. The other two bedrooms have a king bed and two twin beds, respectively.

During your stay at Evangeline, be sure to make the 2-minute walk to the nearest beach, the 1-mile walk to Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project and the just-over-1-mile walk to Jumby Bay Beach. When it’s time to leave, take the half-mile walk to the Jumby Bay ferry dock, catch the 7-minute ferry to Antigua and make the 5-minute drive from the Antigua ferry dock to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Tir Na Nog

A piece of Indonesia in Antigua, Harbour Heights pairs the relaxed style of southeast Asia with gorgeous views of the Caribbean. Laid out across a main pavilion and three guest cottages, the six-bedroom villa is spacious and private. It’s part of Jumby Bay Resort, too, so guests have access to exclusive amenities, restaurants and bars and beaches.

Your stay at Harbour Heights includes chef, butler and housekeeping service, meals and beverages at the resort, and access to perks like shared pools, fitness and tennis facilities, a croquet lawn and a putting green. Explore the property in one of the villa’s golf carts or one of the resort’s bicycles, or borrow watersports equipment to discover what’s under the waves. The villa is located right on Harbour Beach, but it also has a freeform pool, terrace with lounge chairs and al-fresco dining pavilion.

Vaulted ceilings, neutral tones and an interior courtyard give the villa a light, bright ambience. Sitting areas both indoors and out feature comfortable rattan and teak sofas and chairs with fresh white upholstery and complementary blue and tangerine accent pillows. The formal dining room borders the interior courtyard, so you’re practically eating under the palms, and there’s a more casual dining area in the fully equipped kitchen.

Each resort-worthy bedroom at Harbour Heights has an en-suite bathroom, lounge area and terrace with a sitting area. Both the main house and the first guest cottage have one bedroom with a king bed. In each of the other two guest cottages, there are two bedrooms: one with a king bed and one with two double beds.

Though Harbour Heights is set right on Harbour Beach, it’s also an 11-minute walk from Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project and a 12-minute walk from Jumby Bay Beach. At the end of your stay, make the 6-minute walk to the Jumby Bay ferry dock, followed by a 7-minute ride to Antigua proper and a 5-minute drive from the Antigua ferry dock to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Lazy Lizard

Take a Caribbean vacation, Indonesian style at Lazy Lizard. Laid out as a series of eight pavilions around a spectacular swimming pool, the six-bedroom villa pairs the architecture of beach destinations like Bali with an incredible beachfront location on the Caribbean’s warm turquoise waters. Let the chef, butler and housekeeper pamper you, and indulge yourself in the amenities at nearby Jumby Bay Resort.

It’s hard to decide what’s more stunning: the sprawling pool that forms the heart of the villa or the sandy beach just in front. Spend your stay lounging on the terrace, watching the waves or dining at the floating pavilion and see if you can make up your mind. The villa has its own tennis court and fitness center, but you can take the golf carts to the resort to explore the shared pools and tennis and fitness facilities, practice your swing on the croquet lawn and putting green and borrow watersports equipment for the beach. A chef, butler and housekeeper are at your service, making feeding—or entertaining—a crowd a snap.

Though the villa’s interiors are open-plan and open-sided, five acres of landscaped grounds ensure privacy. The main pavilion features a great room with a lighter take on the traditional teak paneling, with vaulted ceilings in light wood and soft blue walls that seem to reflect the ocean outside. Contemporary sofas and even a round sectional mingle easily with a classic carved teak dining set thanks to coordinating turquoise cushions. The fully equipped kitchen accommodates everyone with its two islands, including one with a breakfast bar.

Each of the six bedrooms at Lazy Lizard has its own pavilion with an en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and DVD player. There are two master suites with king beds and ocean views, and two more bedrooms with king beds. The remaining two bedrooms each have two double beds. Though each bedroom suite is furnished differently, they share the main pavilion’s mix of Asian-inspired silhouettes, modern lines and turquoise accents.

From the villa’s location on Harbour Beach, it’s a 9-minute walk to Jumby Bay Beach and just over a half-mile to Pasture Bay Beach, where you’ll find both sand to stretch out on and the Hawksbill Turtle Project. Lazy Lizard is a 2-minute walk from the Jumby Bay ferry, where you can catch a 7-minute ferry to Antigua proper. From the Antigua side, it’s a 5-minute drive to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Turtle Crossing

Fall in love with the setting and the locals at Turtle Crossing. Though the seven-bedroom villa is surrounded by lush gardens, the landscape opens in front of the house to panoramas of the sea. Take in the scenery from the property’s three-story tower or walk to the nearby beach or Jumby Bay Resort for a different view. Make new friends by feeding the residents of the villa’s red-footed turtle sanctuary, and don’t worry—there’s a chef to feed you, too.

As part of the Jumby Bay community, Turtle Crossing offers guests access to shared features like pools, fitness facilities, and even a croquet lawn. Take your meals and beverages at the resort, or let the villa’s chef and butler cater to you. In addition to the turtle sanctuary, there’s plenty to entertain at the villa, from tennis and basketball courts and a bar to golf carts and bicycles. Spend an afternoon watching the waves from the rooftop lounge or soaking in the sun on the terrace, and in the evenings, choose from one of three outdoor dining areas.

Vaulted beamed ceilings, tile floors and an open-plan layout create a beachy, laid-back atmosphere inside the villa. In the sitting area, understated wicker sofas get a shot of color from orange dragonfly-print pillows, while the TV room has a whimsical, larger-than-life waterfowl statue. The formal dining area has a simple, streamlined dark wood table and chairs, but weathered urns and objets add character. All-white cabinets and a roomy island layout give the fully equipped kitchen easy, breezy appeal.

Each of the seven bedrooms at Turtle Crossing has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The master suite has a king bed and its own private courtyard, and there are two additional bedrooms with king beds as well. Two bedrooms have queen beds and two more bedrooms have two twin beds each.

From the villa, it’s a 2-minute walk to the closest beach, just over a half-mile to Pasture Bay Beach and about 1 mile to Jumby Bay Beach. If you’ve flipped for turtles, you can visit the Hawksbill Turtle Project while you’re at Pasture Bay Beach. To get back home after your trip, you’ll need to walk just under 1 mile to the Jumby Bay ferry dock, take a 7-minute ferry ride back to Antigua and make a 5-minute drive to V.C. Bird International Airport.
