Sandpiper Beach House

Whatever your dream Caribbean vacation includes, you’ll find it at Sandpiper Beach House. The five-bedroom villa was designed to be the ultimate Caribbean estate, and it delivers. With gorgeous oceanfront indoor and outdoor living areas, a location on beautiful Davis Bay Beach and access to the exclusive amenities at Jumby Bay Resort. And of course, it wouldn’t be a dream vacation without chef and butler service and all meals and beverages included.

Start each day at Sandpiper Beach House with breakfast in the resort’s restaurants or a coffee overlooking the water on the villa’s terrace. Take a swim in the infinity pool or in the bay, rinse off in the outdoor shower and while away the afternoon sunbathing in a chaise longue or sipping a drink from the beachside wet bar. In the evenings, enjoy a breezy meal prepared by your chef and served by your butler at the al-fresco dining pavilion and challenge friends at the pool table. If you’d like to explore, take the golf carts or bicycles to the resort’s shared pools, fitness and tennis facilities, croquet lawn and putting green, or borrow watersports equipment.

Laid out by architect Andrew Goodenough as a series of open pavilions, the villa has both an airy ambience and quiet, private spaces to gather. In the central great room, vaulted ceilings and open walls are paired with wicker sectionals, wood side tables and blue accent pillows for a breezy, nautical vibe. Trellis-clad walls and a unique fern-like chandelier integrate the dining area into the lush tropical landscape, while a welcoming banquette in the breakfast area can seat a crowd. A vaulted ceiling and spacious island layout make the fully equipped kitchen pleasant for cooks and diners alike.

Each of the five bedrooms at Sandpiper Beach House has an en-suite bathroom and ceiling fan. There are three bedrooms with king beds, one of which opens directly to the beach, and two bedrooms with two twin beds each. As in the rest of the house, neutral tones and vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms create a relaxed feel.

If you’re flying to Antigua, you’ll reach the villa via a 5-minute drive from V.C. Bird International Airport to the ferry dock, a 7-minute ferry ride to the private island on which Jumby Bay is located and a 7-minute walk from the Jumby Bay ferry dock to Sandpiper Beach House. Once you’ve arrived, you’re right on Davis Bay Beach and just over a half-mile walk or ride from Jumby Bay Beach, Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project.

Blue Pelican

Not only is Blue Pelican your private Caribbean getaway, it’s set on a nearly private beach on a private island. Part of the exclusive Jumby Bay Resort, the sprawling oceanfront villa offers guests chef and butler service as well as access to resort amenities from pools and tennis courts to a putting green. There’s plenty of room to play on the 200-foot stretch of beach, and plenty of room to relax between six bedrooms in the villa’s main house and guest cottage.

Spend your stay on the white sands of Pelican Beach in front of the villa, where you’ll find not only calm turquoise waters but lounge chairs and a beachside dining area, bar and outdoor kitchen with grill. There’s also plenty of room to relax on the sunny terrace around the infinity pool or in one of the shaded al-fresco lounge areas. Blue Pelican is just steps away from Jumby Bay’s Estate House and a short walk (or ride in one of the villa’s golf carts) from shared amenities like pools, fitness and tennis facilities, a putting green and a croquet lawn. Meals and beverages at the resort are included in your stay, as are chef, butler and housekeeping services.

The villa follows the curve of the beach and is bookended by two towers: one with bedrooms and balconies and one with sugar mill-inspired stone walls that offers 360º bird’s-eye views of the island. The interiors of Blue Pelican show the same combination of elegance and playfulness, with airy vaulted ceilings, taupe roll-arm sofas, slipcovered dining chairs and beaded chandeliers. The fully equipped kitchen features gourmet appliances and beautiful stone countertops.

There are three master suites in the main house at Blue Pelican, one bedroom in a suite building and two bedrooms in a guest cottage; all six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and ceiling fans. The master suites have king beds and al-fresco showers, while the suite building bedroom has a king bed. In the guest cottage, each bedroom has a queen bed.

As its name implies, Blue Pelican is located right on Pelican Beach and is a 9-minute walk from Jumby Bay Beach and just over a half-mile from Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project. From the villa, it’s a 5-minute walk to the Jumby Bay ferry docks. Plan on a 7-minute ride from Jumby Bay to Antigua proper and a 5-minute drive from the Antigua ferry dock to V.C. Bird International Airport.

La Casa

The Mediterranean meets the Caribbean at La Casa. Taking inspiration from the grand estates of the Riviera, the five-bedroom villa sits amid balconies and vine-covered pergolas on three acres overlooking sandy Pasture Bay Beach. Chef and butler service and the amenities of nearby Jumby Bay Resort, however, make for a warm welcome that’s all Antigua.

Start each day at La Casa with a coffee on the loggia’s lounge area facing the infinity pool and the sea beyond. Choose from chaise longues in the shade or sun, or treat yourself to a soak in the Jacuzzi adjacent to the pool. Spend the afternoon on the pavilion by the beach, the tennis court or the croquet lawn, and take refreshments at the al-fresco bar. In the evenings, let the chef and butler cater to you at the outdoor dining area. Of course, you can also take the villa’s golf carts to the resort, where you’ll find not only shared pools, fitness and tennis facilities and a putting green, but restaurants and bars, too.

From its arched doorways and high ceilings to exposed beams and sweeping staircase, La Casa looks as though it belongs in Italy. The living room sofa is comfortable but gracefully curved, and while the room opens to the terrace to let in the ocean breeze, it also has a fireplace. The dining room has a Mediterranean-beach-resort feel, with wicker chairs, painted trim and a rustic chandelier. Though chef service is included in your stay, the villa does have a fully equipped kitchen.

Each of the five bedrooms at La Casa has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. There are three bedrooms with king beds, including the main-house master suite, and two bedrooms with queen beds. Three of the bedrooms are in their own guest cottages for added privacy. A separate room with twin beds is the perfect place for kids to have their own slumber party.

To reach La Casa, you’ll need to make a 5-minute drive from V.C. Bird International Airport on Antigua to the ferry dock, take a 7-minute ferry ride to the island on which Jumby Bay is located, and make the half-mile walk from the Jumby Bay ferry dock to the villa itself. Once you’ve arrived, you have direct access to Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project. La Casa is just over a half-mile from Jumby Bay Beach.

The Beach House

There is even a bamboo bicycle to explore the island although as the villa boasts the island’s only funicular accessing the beach below guests may not wish to travel too far.
