Estate Belvedere

Estate Belvedere is a boutique villa located in St. Croix, the largest of the US Virgin Islands. This property spans over three and a half acres and has six bedchambers for a total capacity of sixteen guests with ample room for an additional fifty guests for special events. The estate has recently been renovated in order to incorporate certain upgrades, though in such a way to keep alive large elements of the centuries old architecture and history.

Stays at Estate Belvedere leave guests in a state of total serenity. The grounds feature immaculately manicured gardens that produce an indisputable utopian effect. Guests can whittle away the hours sunbathing on the terrace’s comfortable furnishings next to the large stone swimming pool. Modern amenities at Estate Belvedere include climate control, an entertainment center, Wi-Fi and a fully equipped home gym.

Originally the main building on Estate Belvedere was built as a sugar mill in 1791 and retains its old world charm regardless of the recent upgrades. Burmese teak covers the floors, walls and ceilings, offset by rustic yet elegant natural stone. A state-of-the-art lighting system illuminates the woodwork’s intricate details.

Privacy will never be an issue at Nandana. Each of the five bedrooms are in its own separate, free-standing suite; the bedrooms are a mini hideaway from the estate, yet just steps away from the pool and main house. Two of the suites are equipped with a king size bed, while three have a queen bed. An additional room can be made with a full-size bed for an extra guest as well. All of the rooms have an en-suite bathroom with shower and tub, air conditioning, ceiling fan and iPod docking system.

While the combined tranquility and activity at Nandana provides little reason to venture further afield, there’s more adventure just around the corner. Villa Susanna sits amid 3 acres of lush green foliage at the tip of a headland overlooking Marigot Bay. Classic Caribbean architecture blends with European refinement in the four buildings that make up this luxurious estate. Guests will be treated to stunning views of Marigot Bay, the turquoise Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands that dot the horizon.

A covered patio of rich hardwood wraps the rear of the home. Lounge chairs and a hammock present tempting options for breezy afternoons spent under its eaves. A deck surrounds the immense 65 ft pool, where you can soak up the sun, encircled by a tropical lawn and palms. An impressive wooden bridge crosses over the pool to the sunset gazebo. Gather your guests around its 14 person glass table at dusk and watch the sun set on another perfect day. A brick pizza oven is found on a private patio off the kitchen. Winding paths will lead you down to the sandy Trou Roland beach where you’ll find a barbecue and tables.

The open-concept living room/dining room is a sight to behold. Columns, vaulted ceilings, wood-paneled flooring and decadently soft furnishings make it half-cathedral, half-pleasuredome. Settle into a settee and enjoy a movie on the flatscreen TV. When dinner is ready guests can gather around the custom wood dining table. Chef service is available five days a week, but the professionally appointed kitchen may inspire you to take matters into your own hands.

Susanna’s seven bedrooms are spread among three cottages and an apartment each with its own wet bar and sitting area. Every room is individually fitted with fine linens, custom and antique furnishings as well as beautiful louver windows and sliding doors. Private gardens and decks flank two of the cottages and every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom adorned with quality materials and fixtures.

Sailing is the lifeblood of Marigot Bay and you’ll have no trouble chartering a boat for an excursion to the famous Pitons or just for whipping around the bay. When you’re back on land, you’ll find several good dining options in town. Shoppers will enjoy a day trip to Castries and the duty free Pointe Seraphine.
