Experience Virgin Gorda’s famed beaches and boulders at Sol y Sombra. Located near the enchanting rock formations at The Baths, the gated villa is set on a beach where kids can climb and adults can snorkel or kayak. Four bedrooms spread across multiple pavilions offer luxurious, private accommodations, and a tennis court, gym and pool are hotel-worthy perks.

If you’ve come to Sol y Sombra to play, you’ll love the infinity pool, pool toys, life jackets and flotation devices, ocean kayaks and snorkeling equipment. There’s a basketball hoop and even racquets to use on the tennis court if you haven’t brought your own. A fitness room means you can keep up with your routine, and a home theater with pull-down screen is the place to be for evening entertainment. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, enjoy the ocean views from the hammocks on the pergola or the outdoor dining area with grill. For convenience, there’s an office, DSL Internet access, a portable crib and an automatic generator.

Thai-style pavilions with high ceilings and folding glass walls and coralstone flooring inside and out make the villa’s living areas breezy and open. In the living room, carved teak furniture and rich red and white upholstery are elegant and sophisticated, and the dining room’s Persian-style rug brings a formal touch to dinners with ocean views. The gourmet kitchen is well-equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, a wet bar and a wine cooler.

Each of the four bedrooms at Sol y Sombra has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. The master bedroom has a king bed, walk-in closet, mini-fridge, outdoor shower and its own covered veranda. There’s also one bedroom with a queen bed and mini-fridge, and one bedroom with two twin beds and a mini-fridge. In the separate Tennis Suite pavilion, you’ll find a bedroom with a king bed, sitting room, kitchenette and veranda; larger groups can use two twin day beds in the sitting room for additional accommodations.

The villa has views both across the bay and of The Baths. Since the beach directly in front of Sol y Sombra is dotted with Virgin Gorda’s characteristic large, smooth boulders, guests may want to explore the two nearby white-sand beaches, including Little Trunk Bay Beach.

The spacious back terrace is peppered with white columns and archways, and offers multiple cushioned lounge chairs to unwind on surrounded by well-groomed tropical plants. Step through the covered terrace and into the airy living room—it features multiple seating areas with plush furnishings, a flatscreen TV and pillars throughout. A maximum of 10 guests can comfortably stay in this villa’s five individually decorated bedrooms. All boast walk-in closets, air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and French doors leading to the outdoors.

This villa is conveniently close to restaurants, nightlife, shopping and water sports. The closest grocery store is just five minutes away while the luxury boutiques and bistros of the capital city, Marigot, are just a 10-minute drive from the villa. You’re also just 15 minutes to the nearest golf course, and have direct access to the beach where you can sunbathe or swim.

The island of St. Barts is an unspoiled tropical retreat offering a multitude of white sandy beaches, as well as plenty of luxury spas and upscale shopping.

Framed on either side by high fences and tropical gardens, you can feel at ease while resting on the large terrace in complete privacy. Offering panoramic island and bay views, the wooden patio includes plenty of outdoor furnishings including adjustable lounge chairs. The 30 foot infinity edge pool sits in the center of the deck and is an ideal way to cool down on hot day. Meanwhile, the cozy outdoor table is a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee courtesy of the espresso machine.

The inside of the villa is done mostly in neutral colors with contemporary furnishings, dramatic lighting and natural light from oversized windows and doors. There is plenty of space to relax in the air conditioned living room that opens up to the patio and features a widescreen TV. Whip up a home cooked meal in the gourmet kitchen, outfitted with grey countertops and stainless steel appliances, it also includes a breakfast bar.

Nestled in the Caribbean Sea, the island of St. Barts is known for its excellence in luxury and upscale appeal for being both private and prestigious.

The sunny terrace boasts sea views framed by swaying palm trees and tropical greenery. Go for a refreshing dip in the large infinity edge pool, situated between the home and the sunbathing area of the deck. An outdoor dining table is surrounded by tropical vegetation, and is an ideal spot for an alfresco meal while enjoying a magnificent sunset. Daily housekeeping (except Sundays and holidays) is provided to keep the place looking its best.
