This contemporary villa is centrally located in Gustavia, the island’s capital, making it one of our top St. Barts vacation rentals. The unspoiled island of St. Barts boasts an intimate and relaxed atmosphere and features an abundance of beautiful sandy beaches, sunshine and upscale diversions.

Sip a cool drink while sun bathing on one of the comfy lounge chaises on the private outdoor terrace. From here you’ll see panoramic city and sea views, and the infinity pool is just steps away. In the evening, you and your guests can view the night lights while enjoying an alfresco meal set under the covered terrace.

The Prestige’s interior features a tranquil vibe with modern white furnishings, vaulted ceilings and wooden accents. The spacious main room features plenty of seating on plush chairs and couches, as well as a large flatscreen TV. Large sliding panels open up the room to the outside, allowing for warm tropical breezes to pour in, and unobstructed views of the sea and rolling hillside. The villa’s kitchen is unique with red cabinetry and big and small appliances that include an espresso machine and icemaker.

The villa features three bedrooms, all air-conditioned and boasting en-suite bathrooms—enough space for up to six guests. The home’s sprawling queen-sized master suite includes a high ceiling, flatscreen TV, separate sofa and a table. The remaining two bedrooms each feature a queen-sized bed.

Just minutes away from the property, explore the town’s 17th-century forts lining the harbor. Gustavia also offers excellent restaurants, fine spas, high-end boutiques and gift shops along its bustling streets. The island is known for its beach culture, and with plenty of beaches nearby, you can try a bounty of water activities like snorkeling, or just take in some sun on the fine, white sands.

Darsena 20 is a one-story villa that is perfectly balanced with central living spaces and bedrooms distributed for privacy and comfort. Comprising eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a great terrace, this property is an inspiring space for up to 20 people.

Under an asymmetrical wood-beamed ceiling, a collection of sofas and chairs, upholstered in ivory fabric create an ideal spot for socializing. Bask in the sun on the terrace, sprinkled with chaise lounges and umbrellas. The views stretch out toward the marina, while lush landscaping and tall palms create a tropical mood. In the center is a large heated pool with inviting crystalline waters for an invigorating swim or just lazing on a float. There’s also a golf cart included and a boat dock if you want to hire a vessel during your stay. As you’d expect, home comforts such as Wi-Fi, satellite TV and air conditioning are available in this expansive vacation home.

As soon as you step inside Darsena 20, the attention to detail in the décor is obvious. It’s a combination of clean lines with blue and tropical tones to complement its surroundings. The kitchen has everything you need should you decide to prepare a feast for 20 guests, and there’s a separate dining area to accommodate everyone comfortably. If you’d rather not cook, there’s a chef service included in your package, so you can put your feet up and look forward to a mouth-watering meal.

There are eight bedrooms in total; seven in the main villa and one in the separate guest house. All have air conditioning, en-suite facilities and TV. The guest house also has a sofa bed if required. With so many bedrooms in the villa, there’s a daily housekeeping service so you don’t waste any of your vacation trying to keep this large property clean and tidy.

There’s certainly no shortage of things to do away from the villa in this part of The Dominican Republic. There are four high quality golf courses within 10km, restaurants and shops just 300 meters away, and 4km to Altos de Chavon – a remarkable re-creation of a medieval European village – which is a must-see while you’re here. The nearest airport is La Romana International Airport (LRM) which is 13.5km away.

St. Bernard’s Hill House

Cooled by balmy breezes and offering magnificent wide-angled views of the ocean and islands, this exclusive gated hilltop estate is ideal for groups or families seeking a fully-catered vacation home in complete privacy. Poised just 5 minutes’ drive from Long Bay Beach and Smugglers Cove, it’s advisable to rent 4WD vehicles as the roads are paved but steep. Accommodation includes the services of a gourmet chef, daily maid service and use of a 30-foot captained powerboat (food, fuel and dockage fees are extra).

As you approach St Bernard’s Hill House through electronic gates and drive through eight acres of its meandering tropical landscape, the estate will start to work its magic on you. Gracious, attentive staff welcome you to your island paradise. Wrap around verandahs, sunny terraces and shaded seating and dining areas offer you myriad vantage points from which to watch the yachts and absorb the tranquility of your surroundings while a mirror-like heated infinity pool entices you to float any cares away.

Indoors, the Main Pavilion is dominated by the airy Great Room, richly decorated with original Caribbean artwork and intricate antiques. Arched doorways open out to a deep covered three-sided verandah, overlooking the ocean’s blue majesty, dotted with green islands and cays. Dining options abound – ask your talented chef to prepare a Caribbean feast and gather with your family or friends around the indoor dining table, or savor a sizzling barbecue under a starlit canopy on one of the outdoor terraces. For entertainment, choose from satellite TV with DVD player and surround sound, dock your iPod and listen to music on the outdoor speakers or pick a book or game from the shelves. There’s also Wi-Fi, a computer and printer in the study if you need to keep in touch.

Air conditioned cottages house five well-screened en-suite bedrooms with furnished verandahs, offering complete seclusion for couples and families. All bedrooms are ‘homes from home’ with microwaves, mini fridges, TVs and DVD players. There’s even a bamboo-floored home gym below one of the cottages for staying in shape.

If the nearby beaches can’t hold your attention for long, pack your snorkeling gear and hop aboard ‘BVI Beverley’ for a boat ride or diving trip to Jost Van Dyke. Upon entering the villa on the first floor is the entrance hall, displaying an elegant chandelier, lovely painted abstract design on the concrete finished floor and of course the wide open window with views of the sea down to the second wing of the villa. From this wing one can access three bedrooms. To the left is the lively Glass & Mirror Room with an intricate block ceiling design, walk in closet, en suite black-tiled bathroom including shower and outdoor Jacuzzi.

The energetic Caribbean Room is situated to the right of this wing with miniature steel pan fixtures and vibrant colours. An en suite bathroom provides a standing shower.

Further to the right of this wing is the Master Bedroom also known as the Shell Room. As the name implies this room has neutral colours and furniture pieces adorned with shells. A separate walk-in closet and en suite bathroom consisting of tub and an open shower can also be found. These three rooms afford sea views and constant breezes from their private terraces. The further two bedrooms are located on the ground floor accessible via a three-way split staircase fitted with a crystal glass lit backdrop.

On the ground floor is The Ocean Room, comprising of two twin beds and en suite bathroom with a standing shower and closet area to the left. The final room is a must see! Situated across the second wing of the villa and accessed via the courtyard is the Safari Room – the epitome of jungle fever accentuated by a large wardrobe painted with safari animals such as elephants, giraffes and other exotic animals. The spacious en suite bathroom has an exposed natural piece of coral stone created as part of the original foundation of the land. The coral stone adds an earthy effect to the already well themed bathroom complemented by a granite ‘cheetah’ print counter top, open shower and warm wood tiles. This room also features a small terrace ideal for enjoying an early morning coffee whilst embracing garden and sea views.

The courtyard also leads to the Media Room, equipped with comfy leather chairs and large screen where guests can enjoy on demand movies and internet TV in this relaxing air-conditioned room.

Through the tiled covered pathway is the open plan living room and expertly designed kitchen with an island and table seating up to 4 persons. Equipped with a stove top, oven, wine cooler, fridge, ice maker, dishwasher and more, the kitchen complete for a vacation away from home.

From the living room and kitchen one can access the outdoor area. An expansive split level terrace is set up for lounging and informal dining. To the left and right of the terrace are separate elevated gazebos perfect for al fresco served by the Butler.The terrace and gazebos look out on to the large art deco infinity edge pool, sun deck with loungers and a small sanded area set up as your very own private beach in Barbados, all achieving breathtaking scenery from flowing fields out to the azure Caribbean waters.

Further views can be enjoyed from one of the three roof terraces outfitted with seating and accessed via a spiral stair case in the courtyard.

Hide away at Tamarind – Guest House on Parrot Cay. This romantic two-bedroom villa on an exclusive private island offers both the amenities of a resort and a secluded beachfront location. Perks like butler/driver service and water sport equipment are included, and full board is available if you’d really like to be pampered.

Not only does Tamarind – Guest House have both a pool and its own section of beach, there are plenty of chaise longues and umbrellas on the pool terrace and sand inviting you to relax. A waterfront gazebo is a shady spot for al-fresco meals or games, and guests also have access to a shared heated pool and jogging track. Inside, there’s a DVD player and iPod dock for entertainment, and air conditioning and ceiling fans for comfort.

The villa’s open-plan living space is bright and contemporary, with plenty of beachy accents. Fresh white beadboard walls have a counterpoint in horizontal teak paneling, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors provide panoramic ocean views. Blue and turquoise pillows give a pop of color to white sofas in the living room, while handsome wicker chairs offer plenty of seating in the dining area. The compact yet airy kitchen has stainless steel appliances, teak cabinets and a pass-through to the dining area.

Each of the property’s two bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower, an outdoor shower, iPod dock, TV and DVD player. One bedroom has a king bed that can be converted to two twin beds, and the other has two twin beds, which can be converted to a king. Decor is breezy and tropical, with white linens, tongue-and-groove walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, but on the hottest nights, flip on the ceiling fans or air conditioning.

From Tamarind – Guest House, it’s about 2.3 miles by golf cart to the main Parrot Cay resort area. (Your stay includes the services of a driver, of course.) From the island, it’s a 30-minute boat ride to the town of Providenciales, a 45-minute boat ride to a church, the Grace Bay Clinic, Provo Golf Course and the airport, and a 50-minute boat ride to the Cheshire Medical Center.
