The kitchen is open and convenient, so mealtimes can be social even before you sit at the table, with plentiful counter space integrated with barstool-style seating for guests. A Bosch pro-quality range in the kitchen and a Weber gas grill on the terrace mean that no recipe is out of the question.

The living room offers comfortable seating for six on plush, white sofas, a full HDTV system with U.S. and French satellite, DVD, and Bose sound with an iPod dock. Villa Bliss (DKD) is an architectural jewel that stands out among the numerous exceptional homes in St. Barth. Ingeniously integrate into the natural environment of its Pointe Milou setting, this villa melds two characters: the high vista offering sweeping views and the secluded retreat where you are sure to find your own space.

The materials are simple, stylish and create a refreshing atmosphere: ash wood, a silver-green resin floor throughout, a stainless steel kitchen, white linens. The accessories, like jewelry, add character: Christian Liagre and Artemide lamps, fun Philippe Starck stools, Flos lighting. The interior and exterior colors were custom created by Donald Kaufman and Taffy Dahl, who have designed colors for the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Delano Hotel in Miami and the J. La Maison sur le Port

La Maison sur le Port (Villa MSP) provides a rare combination of the ultimate central location with unexpected spaciousness and high levels of luxury. Spend less of your St. Barth vacation behind the wheel of a car. Try the Gustavia townhouse lifestyle, without giving up the pool or the sun.

On the main level is a large air-conditioned living room with pale blue comfortable sofas that face the pool and the terrace, a large wooden table seating ten people and a gourmet kitchen with a large granite counters. Right above the Christopher Hotel in Pointe Milou, Villa What Else is truly one of a kind. It’s built over three levels, the better to maximize those sea views. The layout also enhances privacy, which makes this island house a good choice for extended families or groups of friends traveling together. The villas main level comprises a cozy indoor living and dining area, with beautiful weathered-wood tables; an open-air covered living area on the terrace; an infinity pool; an open kitchen with a pass-through that makes sending meals out to the outdoor eight-seater table easy; and two of the villa’s four bedrooms. On the level below, two additional bedrooms offer comfortable sleep; while smaller than the upstairs rooms, they also have Euro king beds, large and modern bathrooms and ocean views. Each of the bedrooms occupies its own private pavilion, and warm woodworks—which were constructed in and imported from Bali—enhance the welcoming vibe throughout. Also there is a grassy nook set up with sunbeds—one more thing that makes the living at Villa What Else effortless.

The seduction begins the moment you arrive at Villa Lina (DER), as you pass through a verdant arbor and beside a small pond surrounded by beautiful exotic plants. Then it is enhanced, as you step into the cool sanctum of the gracious, flowing living area. Designed by noted architect Johannes Zingerle, this luxury rental villa was built to be a vacation home distinguished by its comfort, feeling of well-being and subtly contemporary details.

Villa Lina (DER) invites laid-back island living with its blissfully secluded location, clean-lined furnishings, artful details like coral-pattern cushions on the long, low-slung gray couches and an eye-catching photograph of a woman’s face, wearing lipstick in Murakami’s rendition of the beloved Louis Vuitton logo. This vacation home’s playfulness is welcome in this tranquil environment, which is defined by its cooling ocean breezes and spectacular Caribbean Sea views beyond Colombier and Flamands beaches, as well as the surrounding emerald-colored hills.

The views are commanding everywhere: the living area, the terrace, the bedrooms and especially the endlessly inviting infinity pool. And the visuals inside are just as natural and appealing, as the main materials are wood and stone, which merge the indoors and out. And, of course, light. Large bay windows in the front and the rear allow sunlight to stream in and Villa Lina’s privileged guests look out. They can be opened to let the breezes waft through.

Well-suited to families—who would be well advised to retain concierge to plan activities for all ages and see that some of the cooking is taken care of—Villa Lina’s layout includes two good-size bedrooms on either side of the spacious living area. Each has its own private bathroom with a walk-in shower and dressing area. A third, smaller bedroom is suitable for young children or a nanny, and has a bathroom right across the hall. The villa also includes an outdoor shower.

Villa Casawapa’s open and spacious living area looks out over a glistening infinity pool, the hills of Colombier and the blue Atlantic beyond.
