Step into a calm retreat at Queens Fort 10. Set in the exclusive neighborhood of Queens Fort in St. James, the five-bedroom villa is close to several beautiful west-coast beaches, two golf courses and a short walk from Folkestone Marine Park. Of course, with cook service provided and a gorgeous pool to lounge around, you’ll hardly want to leave.

The gated property is made even more private by lush landscaping, and was designed to entertain. The main house’s bar opens to a covered outdoor lounge area that’s equally suited to a morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Cross the tidy lawn to the sunny terrace, pool and gazebo with outdoor dining area, wet bar with wine cooler and barbecue. An outdoor shower along the path to the beach is a handy spot to rinse off after a swim. In addition to its two bars, the villa has a TV and DVD player, iPod dock and Wi-Fi for entertainment, and ceiling fans and air-conditioned bedrooms to ensure comfort.

A low profile and nearly all-white color scheme give the single-story villa a breezy, comfortable feel. The living room can accommodate the whole family on a curved white sectional, and the adjoining dining room seats eight around a striking black table. A buffet area just outside the kitchen makes room for pre-dinner drinks, hors d’oeuvres or quick dinner service. Though the services of a cook are included in your stay, there is a fully equipped kitchen with bright white cabinets and sleek stainless steel appliances.

There are three bedrooms in the main house at Queens Fort 10 and two in a separate cottage by the pool. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. In the main house, the master bedroom has a king bed and opens to the garden, a second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. In the cottage, one bedroom has a king bed and the other has two twin beds.

During your stay, you’ll need plenty of time to explore all the nearby beaches: Colony Club Beach, just over a quarter-mile walk, Almond Beach Club, 1.5 miles away, Sandy Lane Beach, just under 2 miles away, Mullins Beach, 2.5 miles away, and Heywoods Beach, 4.5 miles away. Spend a few hours at Folkestone Marine Park, a 10-minute walk from the villa, play a game on the tennis court at Sandy Lane, about 2 miles away, or play a round at Royal Westmoreland Golf Course, 1.5 miles away, or Sandy Lane’s Green Monkey Golf Course, 3 miles away. From the villa, it’s a 1-mile drive to Holetown, 3.5 miles to Speightstown, 8 miles to Bridgetown and 18 miles to the airport.

Amberley House

The villa offers a beautiful back terrace set amidst the impeccably maintained grounds. With plenty of lounge chairs available on the terrace, you can choose the best spot to soak in the sun and unwind under swaying palm trees. The large heated pool is a great place to cool off and provides ideal setting for entertaining. The interior of the house features an open concept with neutral tones and natural lighting throughout. The large living room offers comfortable seating on pillow-topped wicker furnishings as well as a flatscreen TV for indoor entertainment. The large, fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar offers all the necessary tools to create an island meal at home although a chef service is also offered.

This home is ideally located near Sandy Lane which offers a white sand beach as well as a tennis court, spa and sun loungers. Also close by is the popular Royal Westmoreland Golf Course and many popular fine dining restaurants. A short drive brings you to vibrant Holetown where you can enjoy shopping and excellent nightlife.

Bonavista

Bonavista is one of our must-visit Barbados villas: not only does it boast ultimate privacy while remaining close to shopping and activities, it also offers amazing sea views and access to the beach. Sitting in St-Peter, this region of Barbados is surrounded by white sandy beaches and is known as the “Platinum Coast.”

The swimming pool is set amongst a manicured tropical garden with mature trees, making it a perfect spot for a mid-day swim, then afterwards, you and your guests can soak in the sun on the lounge chaises found on the pool deck. Access the beach via a manicured pathway from the pool and through the villa’s back gate, here you’ll find also chairs to make your beach lounging more comfortable.

This two-storey home offers a spacious, covered terrace with a living area featuring plenty of plush seating and an al fresco dining table with seating for 10. A nearby Roman-styled fountain and a wet bar with stools are also highlights. A formal living room with stately furnishings, mahogany accents and an antique Oriental rug, also opens up onto the terrace, and the main level of the home features a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

Up to eight guests can stay in the four, air-conditioned bedrooms—they are all decorated with their own unique colour scheme and décor, and are evenly split between the two levels. On the lower level is a king-sized bedroom with access to the beach, while the other room features two twin beds. The upper level’s rooms feature king-sized beds, and the master suite boasts access to the balcony.

Mullins Beach is a short five minutes from the villa and offers plenty of water sports activities. Holetown, no more than a 15-minute drive away, offers an excellent variety of restaurants and a beautiful boardwalk, and avid golfers can hit the greens of the world-class Royal Westmoreland Golf Course, 3 miles from the villa.

Atelier House

This spectacular architect-designed property, completed in 2012, is one of the most contemporary villas in Barbados. Set on half an acre of tropical gardens, and with room for up to eight guests, this gated property is a fabulous place to unwind and enjoy a memorable Caribbean holiday.

Atelier House sits on a ridge above the West Coast of Barbados, and the views across the treetops to the sea are spectacular – especially from the infinity pool or the panoramic roof terrace. This being the west coast, the sunset views are magical – enjoy a glass of rum punch as you watch the sun disappear over the horizon. When you’re not gazing out to sea, you’ll love the other outdoor spaces – perfect for sunbathing, dining, or simply sitting back with a good read.

Indoors, the dramatic double-height living area makes the most of the location, facing out across the pool area to the sea. There is great attention to detail everywhere you look, the sense of light and space accentuated by cool, simple furnishings and surfaces – such as the limestone countertops in the kitchen. As with many of our villas in Barbados, cook service is included, six days a week.

The sophisticated style continues in the four bedrooms, two of which have ensuite bathrooms. The upstairs master bedroom comes with its own balcony for stunning sunset views. The downstairs ensuite bathroom extends to an outdoor shower area.

This stunning luxury home is one of our must-see Barbados vacation rentals. Located in the gated community of Sugar Hill, it features a spacious interior, manicured grounds and excellent sea views. Referred to as “Little England,” the island of Barbados combines British charm and Caribbean flair and is a popular holiday destination for visitors looking for sun.

Relax in the shade under the covered terrace on plush patio furnishings or sip on a cocktail in the sun on one of the lounge chairs surrounding the sparkling pool. A maid service ensures the home stays extra clean during your visit, while a cook is also available for days when you would like to enjoy a prepared meal in the villa.

The interior of the villa has been elegantly finished with curved doors with natural wood windows, coral stone walls and high-end furnishings. The living room opens up to the terrace and features two colorful sofas, arched doorways and bright artwork. From the living room, step through French doors into the partially open-air dining room with a cathedral ceiling and plenty of seating around a black granite table—there’s also a wet bar with additional seating.
